Hello, Russia!

I am amused and curious that I appear to have aquired a number of faithful Russian readers!

I have always been passionate about languages and many many many years ago (a quarter of a century, actually, gasp!) I did study Russian for a while. It's all gone now, but a for a little while I astonished the Italians rattling out whole chunks of Chekhov by heart in the original language and writing graffiti in beautiful cyrillic script. I even aquired a fur hat, but in Italy it was never cold enough to wear it. Anyway, 25 years and 3 languages later I have forgotten everything I learnt of Russian, but still retain an affection for it!
